Pabellón Olímpico de Badalona , Badalona, Barcelona

The event will take place on Monday, April 22, the day before Sant Jordi, at the Municipal Sports Palace.

Following Monday, April 22, starting at 4 p.m., the Badalona Municipal Sports Palace (143 Ponent Street) will host the first Spring Gala - Ball for the elderly of Badalona. This new event is organized by the Senior Citizens Area of the Badalona City Council, intending to provide a special festive day to the city's seniors.

The Senior Citizens Area of the City Council has designed this event on the eve of the Sant Jordi festival. The event will include a dance with live music and a small snack. At the end of the program, all participants will be presented with a red rose.

The objective of this Spring Gala is to promote the participation of older people by facilitating a meeting space where they can work on physical and emotional well-being through relational and movement activities.

The event will be attended by the mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol; the second deputy mayor and councilor for the Area of Economic and City Promotion, Work, Culture, Citizenship, and Government, Cristina Agüera; from the councilor for the Area of Older People, Feminisms and LGTBIQ+ and Functional Diversity, Florencia Badia and the deputy councilor in the Area, Sheila Martínez.

The mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, highlighted that: “this gala is an event that we have designed to be a special occasion for the elderly people of Badalona. “Beyond the fact that it is a dance and gets you out of the house to have a good time, we want this dance to be an event that you look forward to.”

Interested people can pick up their invitation until Monday, April 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at table 5 of the municipal offices in the El Viver building (Plaza de la Assemblea de Catalunya, 9-12).
